When imagining where sex machines come from, I envision Frankenstinian lairs with giant Jacob’s Ladders buzzing behind rows of imposing glass beakers, staffed by nearly-naked babe-a-licious lab assistants bearing jars of stiff dildos labeled “Abby Normal”.

But according to photographer Timothy Archibald’s new blog, I’m a bit off; while the babes are there in quantity, the situational reality is more like modified Makita drills and spotty cable service. Either way, do peruse the excerpts and photos from his book and travels around the U.S. seeking out sex machine inventors, and yes, it does include naked babes.
